Welcome to Budo Taijutsu

The Bujinkan Gin Yanagi Dojo is based in the Southwest of England and is afiliated with the original BTSD Bujinkan Taka-Segi Dojo of America, making it the first of its kind in the United Kingdom.

Under the guidance of master teacher Phillip Legare, Shihan, the Gin Yanagi Dojo trains in the martial art of Budo Taijutsu, once known as Ninjutsu, and is headed by the 34th Grandmaster, Dr Massaki Hatsumi, Soke.

Budo Taijutsu is made up of nine individual martial lineages and within these nine ryu (schools) you can find eighteen traditional topics of study which include:

Taijutsu – unarmed fighting
Ninja Ken – ninja sword
Bojutsu – long and short stick fighting
Shurikenjutsu – throwing weapons
Yarijutsu – spear fighting
Naginatajutsu – halberd fighting
Kusari Gama – chain and sickle
Hensojutsu – disguises
Shinobi iri – stealth and infiltration techniques
Sui ren – water training
Bo ryaku – strategy
Cho ho – espionage
Intonjutsu – escape and evasion
Tenmon – meteorology
Chimon – geography

A Final Word
